Last week saw a real throwback moment for us, in which we found ourselves jumping in front of Jamie Beck’s camera lens. This time around it was because we were getting new headshots taken, but back when we first started the business, it was because we were the only two people we could convince to model for Of a Kind. Three years and some real models later, Jamie remains one of our closest and most talented friends and collaborators (and, until recently, our officemate). In that time, she’s also managed to become one of the most in-demand fashion photogs on the scene. If you’re not already, you need to get on board with her seriously stellar blog, Ann Street Studio. As she would say: It’s 100%. —claire

Erica's things:

  • Digging the awesome husband-wife, tech-and-fashion podcast The Needle & The Mouse from Dan Frommer and Lauren Sherman. Smart AND entertaining.

  • Eyeing all of this splattered kitchenware from Crow Canyon—do I need a tea kettle? canisters?—that would look so freaking rad hangin’ on my countertop.

  • LOLing over this account of the repercussions of quinoa’s newfound popularity, by Juli Weiner.

  • Spending the afternoon poolside at Williamsburg’s super-polished King & Grove hotel—it feels more L.A. than L train.

  • Rooting for Fifth Harmony to become the girl-band answer to One Direction. Go on, now: Check out this and this.

Claire’s things:
  • Finding a video game I can get behind—Nowness’s Ballroom Battles. They call it an “interactive Voguing experience.” I call it Paris is Burning for the digital age.

  • Signing up for Contactually—it’s a like a really, really smart and helpful digital Rolodex that plugs right into your email.

  • Loving DailyCandy’s short films in collaboration with Tribeca Enterprises—this parody of a fashion blogger-slash-stylist is SO GOOD.

  • Prepping for the cooler weather by dropping off my arsenal of boots at Leather Spa—they return everything looking brand-spanking-new. It’s magic.

  • Getting super into Luther—a British serial crime drama in which Idris Elba fills the void in my life created by Elliot Stabler’s departure from television.
