Our get a deal Diaries
Erica and I have a favorite game, and it is called “Shop Anywhere.” It basically goes like this: If you were FORCED to buy only one thing from X place, what would it be? It is the most fun to play it at either terrible places (e.g., the weird prom dress shop below our office) or wonderful places (e.g., the Wren sample sale happening right now on our very own website). Here’s how it turned out today: Erica picked this, I picked this. (Clearly we both have cooler weather on the mind.) I think this round is a draw. —claire
+ Mixing up some raspberry- (and, ok, whiskey-) fueled Heatwave cocktails.
+ Wanting to gift made-in-L.A. Dominik cutting boards for every wedding on the summer calendar.
+ Scooping up vintage NYC postcards on eBay—about 324 times cooler than any you’ll find at the gift stores on Canal.
+ Applauding the brilliance that is the Cosby Sweater Tournament. Only one piece of knitwear will walk away a winner, guys.
+ Going analog with the super-cool illustrated city maps from Herb Lester Associates. When this thing shows up in my mailbox, I’m going to start planning my trip to Copenhagen for real.
+ Loving Vanity Fair’s genius feature in which they interview notable techies about their smartphones—a surprisingly revealing topic.
+ Mixing L’Oreal self-tanning lotion with my daily moisturizer for a hard-to-eff-up fake glow.
+ Kinda wishing I could go to the ballet with Jesse Eisenberg’s mom.
+ Just making sure everyone knows how delicious these (gluten-free!) sesame crackers are. Especially with a giant dollop of hummus.
