11 Hacks to Make Morning Workouts Easier

The best time to exercise is whenever you have the most time, energy, and motivation — but if you want to feel super-productive, there’s nothing like getting your workout done and dusted before breakfast.

If morning’s not typically your time to shine, here are three ways to make those early workouts more bearable:

  1. Lay out your gear the night before. Better yet, sleep in your comfy activewear. Just roll out of bed and you’re ready to go!
  2. Position your alarm across the room. You’ll have to get out of bed to turn it off.
  3. Hydrate. Dehydration can affect your performance, so drink a glass first thing in the morning to replenish the fluids you lost through breathing and sweating in your sleep.

If every morning is a battle with the snooze button, you may not be getting the rest you need. But a few simple techniques can help you calm your mind and fall asleep faster.

One of the best is sleep meditation, and we’ve got five simple tips to get you started. (Or try one of the relaxing practices in the Sound Meditation program on the Openfit app!)

It would be great if motivation stayed at “Day One” levels forever — but in reality, motivation is more like a battery that needs to be recharged on the regular.

One simple way to do that: Find a morning mantra that inspires you to stay focused on your goals. We’ve rounded up some of our favorites to help you recommit each day.
