Hey Everyone,

As the cool of fall inches into New York we turn to a stronger pant and keep experimenting with garment dyed goodness

Sometimes it takes years to make an overnight hit. We launched the Strong Dungarees late last February and something just clicked. Something simple and pure, and so damn right. A quietly bombproof pant, easy to wear, and even easier to take care of. The sort of pant that you can just throw on everyday and think nothing of it, a pant that just works. The Strong Dungarees.

You can think of the Strong Dungarees as a tougher take on our core Slim Dungaree form. Where the Slims go for a versatile balance, the Strongs go for a tough straightforwardness. Both pants feature similar five pocket cuts, with stainless steel rivets and gussets for freedom of movement. Both are treated to dry quickly and stay clean longer. But the Strongtwill fabric of the Strong Dungarees is heavier and denser with more structure that allows them to wear more like traditional jeans, but without any of the BS of denim.

The secret of the Strongtwill lies in what we've taken to calling the Supplex fat yarns. Supplex is a specialized nylon engineered to be extremely soft and resilient, the filaments are extremely thin and have been air texturized to give them a bouncy crimp. By twisting about 70 of these fine Supplex filaments into a single fat yarn, we are able to make a material that is both incredibly strong and surprisingly soft. These yarns are then woven up into a simple 2x1 twill 320gsm fabric and treated with an eco-calibrated DWR so they dry quicker and stay cleaner. The resulting fabric starts out tough yet comfortable and breaks in slowly, lasting a long, long time. (How long? We have no idea, we haven't had enough time to break one from wear and tear, all the ones we wear just keep on trucking.)

Since we like color more than some of you give us credit for, we've got a new set of beautiful garment dyed GD Cottonweight Merino T-Shirts in GD Black, GD Brutal Tan and GD Fuchsia Decay.
