The magic of the holidays is often accompanied by a longing for loved ones. During the most wonderful time of the year, we remember all those we wish were still here.

Amélia and Jonathan, Jr. had the blessing of being raised by Mémère (Daddy’s maternal grandmother) while Mommy and Daddy were at work, until both children were old enough to go to school. Mémère got to see many of their firsts. She was caring, loving, made them laugh, and adored them!

Mémère’s health declined over the years and all-day visits turned into half-days and then into just an hour here and there. We made a great effort to visit her every Sunday! COVID didn’t stop us and we would visit through her building's glass door.

She passed away on March 13, 2021 and that was very difficult for all of us. For Christmas, Jonathan, Jr. asked Santa for a picture of Mémère and this is how this project became a reality.
