For autumn/winter 13, Red Ear is rooted in Japanese workwear, reflecting Paul's appreciation of Japan's artisanal approach and his interest in taking old techniques and traditions and making something completely new with them.
Casual tailoring pieces reference the kimono with vanishing lapels and innovative square bluff pockets. Linings combine patterns inspired by a sashiko blanket and trouser shapes are fuller, with simple square constructed pockets again taking inspiration from the minimal-artisanal approach.
Throughout, the palette is heavy with muted hues of black and navy, with prints playing a key part on Oxford shirts, T-shirts and suit jackets. The collection also includes exclusive prints by comic artist Laurence Campbell - who has produced work for 2000 AD, Image comics and Marvel.
