Check Your Tread Depth with the Penny Test
If your tire tread wears too quickly over time, your tires lose some of their stopping power, which compromises safety and control. It’s easy to check your tire tread at home with the “Penny Test.”
Step 1. Place a penny upside down, with the heads side facing toward you, inside the grooves of your tread.
Step 2. Evaluate if you can see all of Abraham Lincoln’s head while the penny is still in between the grooves.
