Eater Wine Club Logo
A closely cropped shot of a ridged wine glass, three-quarters full of an orange colored wine.

With the help of October's "black and orange" theme, Eater Wine Club is diving right into Halloween. The wines this month were selected by Houston-based wine pro June Rodil, and her theme translates to a mix of inky, black-fruited reds (the "black" wines) and skin-contact wines, which you've maybe heard referred to as "orange" (basically white wine made like a red wine — that is to say, where the juice sits in contact with the skins).

For June Rodil, these wines not only cheekily reflect the spooky holiday; they also cue the change in season, when we're ready to drink something a little cozier, weightier, and warmer.

So sign up now for Eater Wine Club — even if you don't have the most original costume in the room, you'll still be the one bringing the best wines to the Halloween party.
