A trapdoor is a sliding or hinged door, flush with the surface of a floor, roof, or ceiling, or in the stage of a theater. It is most commonly used to access the basement in a house.

A trapdoor can be heavy and hard to open especially for elders and kids. However, you can automate trapdoor by mounting the actuator on the trapdoor so that it can open & close with just a press of a button.
