West Wales

With so many beautiful areas in West Wales to explore, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing your cottage. Dolphins frequent Cardigan Bay and unspoilt Pembrokeshire beaches are numerous. Pretty villages dot the unspoilt coastline, while inland, the Preseli Hills with their 'bluestone' are a must for walkers. Don't miss the castles along the southern coast and the sleepy Taff estuary where Dylan Thomas' Boathouse sits above the "mussel pooled and heron priested shore".

Cardigan Bay

A perfect half-moon bay, dotted with smugglers coves and award-winning beaches, where a coast path hugs the cliffs, bottlenose dolphins frolic in the sea, and the hills of the hinterland come down to the coast to tempt you in land.

Cascading waterfalls, a famous bridge replete with the ever-present welsh fable, forests, mountains and the chance to try out the old fishing boat - the coracle.

Stretching from the crook of the Llyn peninsula in the north to Pembrokeshire in the South and cutting a deep swathe into the middle of Wales, Cardigan Bay has both quaint fishing villages and Victorian seaside towns to while days away in.

Pembrokeshire

From the bluestone strewn hills of the Preseli's, a treasure trove of natural, unspoilt beauty spills down to the sea, all the way to Wales's lands end - St Davids peninsula.

Trains of cattle meander down coastal lanes, dolphins and puffins play off the 56 beaches, visitors explore St Davids, the UK's smallest cathedral town and Tenby with its 3 blue flag beaches. Walkers contemplate the 186 mile coastal path.

With monastic islands, seals, true fishing villages, wild flowers, ancient memories, bird colonies, stunning beaches… Pembrokeshire continues to beguile those wanting to enjoy its dramatic and often unexpected scenes of natural beauty.

Carmarthenshire

Made up of coastal paradises, flowing fields, winding rivers and romantic castle ruins, the county of Carmarthenshire is the picture of perfection that provides the ideal backdrop for walking.

The Twyi river runs gracefully through fields, meadows and woods, spilling into an estuary, then into the sea, all the way flanked by quiet lanes, small chequered fields, history and charm.

Dylan Thomas Country with dramatic medieval castles - and a tale or two involving Merlin!
