Using the inverse square law to help plan productions.

Knowing exactly how many foot candles will fall in any given region of your set before you set foot on stage, can be really useful. From planning your rig and choosing fixtures, to understanding what exposure leeway you have, the inverse square law helps us minimize tweaking on shoot days. And if you’re rigging for a volume, knowing the range of foot candles is essential for matching the exposure of the LED wall.

Whether it’s a conventional or virtual production, knowing how to predict your light’s output will always be one of the best tools to have in your back pocket.

Check out the full video below and discover how you can better prepare for your next production.
