When floodwaters rise, when fire rages, when wind rips through town – that’s when the Red Cross community takes action.
But we are also there for the more silent emergencies, doing the work that never makes headlines. We stick around during the long months rebuilding. We make sure communities are prepared to save a life. We support brave military families when a loved one is far from home.
More than 9 million people will learn lifesaving skills from the Red Cross each year. Every small gesture of compassion echoes across the country. And none of it is possible without you.
We train thousands of people in disaster response. We reach countless people every day, and put 91 cents of every dollar donated directly into helping those in need.
But we won’t rest until every person affected by disaster receives care, shelter, and hope. Until our communities are prepared for disasters, and everyone in our country has access to safe, life-saving blood.
