It’s a Covid Christmas 🎄

Email sent: Dec 24, 2020 6:50am
This year is a strange one, with Covid19
Back and fore Lockdown and Trump in between.
And now that it’s Christmas, for all in tier 4
There’s no festive bubbles, we’re locked in once more.

Yes there’ll be presents and family games
Turkey and puddings’ flickering flames.
Afternoon telly and Mum on the sherry
Dad’s rude jokes as the gin gets him merry.

But let’s not forget that not everyone’s here
Some people have Christmas without fun or cheer.
So hug who you’re with, make the most of this break
hold onto the moments and memories you make.

Merry Christmas to everyone, far and wide
especially to those who can't go outside.
Call them or facetime, show them you care,
letting them know, you'll always be there.

A Christmas poem by Lizzie Sands
reflecting on the strange year we’ve all had.
