Good news for landlords with a Spring in their step. 

It’s March, the sun has been shining, and Spring is most definitely in the air - so we thought we’d bring you a special Good News edition of Landlord’s Voice!

This month we cover rising rents, the biggest choice of buy-to-let mortgages in more than ten years, evidence that professional landlords are in buying mode despite cuts and Brexit looming, plus news on calls for an overhaul of Universal Credit, and a High Court ruling that Right to Rent breaches human rights laws, and puts an unfair burden on landlords.

Top story: Average UK rent rose 2.5 per cent in the last 12 months

The average rent in the UK is now £932, which is a rise of 2.5 per cent on this time last year. When London is excluded, the average rent in the UK is now £775 - a 2.0 per cent increase. Average rents in the capital itself are now £1,588, up by 3.7 per cent on early 2018.
