JOIN THE MOVEMENT

Did you know that every second there is one garbage truck of clothing that is either burned or sent to a landfill? Fashion ranks second - just under the oil industry - as the top major polluting industry in the world. It accounts for more than 10% of global greenhouse emissions with less than 1% of its product recycled.

That’s why we decided to BE THE CHANGE! This year, we ask that you join us in this small, but very vital, step forward by pledging to buy LESS new fashion!

THE LITTLE BLACK BOOTS

Knowing I wasn’t going to be buying any new fashion in 2020, I purchased a pair of waterproof black winter boots in 2019 that I thought would last me for years. However, early into 2020, I sadly discovered that my boots were faulty and totally leaked, among other issues. I returned them and went to buy a new pair, as one would do. It took me 30 minutes into the selection process for the light bulb to go off and suddenly realize that I COULDN’T BUY NEW BOOTS because they were NEW. I fled home and attended a dinner party that night, where I recounted this story to a friend of mine. At the end, she asked what size I wore because she had 2 pairs of boots in her garage that she was about to donate. What luck that she was also a size 8! The next day, I had warm, waterproof boots that I love and wear often!
