SU2C Supporter,

Cancer hit close to home when I learned my uncle Raúl was facing the disease. It continues to affect everyone in some way, which is why I'm reaching out to tell you why cancer clinical trials are important to me as they pave the way for a future with more long-term survivors in it.

Jaime Camil, Stand Up To Cancer Ambassador

As research continues to change cancer treatment, it's crucial that clinical trials include people from all ethnicities and backgrounds.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, only 4% of the Latino community participate, and 4% of trial participants are Black and 15% Asian, despite minority groups in the U.S. having the highest death and shortest survival rate for most cancers. I believe we must change this to save more patient lives.

Clinical trials are critically important for developing better therapies for our loved ones facing cancer and advancing cancer care. SU2C is committed to improving both participation and diversity in clinical trials and has created resources in both English and Spanish for patients and caregivers.

If you or a loved one are facing cancer, consider your options, including clinical trials, and work with your doctor to find the best treatment available for you.

I continue to Stand Up To Cancer for my uncle, Raúl, and everyone impacted by this disease, alongside each of you.

~Jamie Camil
