    Weight loss, dieting, and healthy living are universal goals, but so often they are quickly shoved aside for reasons of schedules, stress, finances, and lack of motivation.  It is true that the busy lifestyle many lead might be imposing when considering a weight loss strategy, especially when you are looking at the big picture.

    If your goal is to lose 50 pounds during the year 2020, you can easily get overwhelmed. Not that your goal isn’t attainable, but figuring out how to work in all the exercise and dietary restrictions can be mind-boggling. You don’t have to give up your career, family obligations, or social engagements in order to pursue your weight loss goals, but those things shouldn’t stand in the way of them either. By planning your approach in smaller, more manageable activities, you can realize your goals in no time.

    Know Before You Go

    Whether or not you have attempted to diet or slim down before, you must know two very important things before you get started on your journey. First of all, it will take work. You don’t just wake up one day and achieve the look and weight you dream of having. There is no magic formula to get you to the end result. If you don’t have these things available when you get home from work, you will turn to something you shouldn’t in order to have a quick meal on the table.
  2. Cook in Bulk. Speaking of having dinner ready in a hurry, by cooking your meals for the week on two separate nights with leftovers and alternate creations for the rest of the week, you don’t have to worry about meals. Cooking a whole rotisserie chicken can give you one night of meat and veggies, one night of soup, and another night of chicken salad. You can cook and store many things in the freezer for later use.
  3. Chop Your Snacks. Buying vegetables and fruits and cutting them up into portion sizes for the week saves time. If you are running out the door, you still have ten seconds to grab a bag of carrot sticks to munch on in the car. One day of prep can give you a whole week of healthy snacks and meal coverage. Its a much better option than grabbing a bag of chips or cookies to hold you over.
  4. Consume More Protein. By filling your body with carbs and sugar, you deny your body of fulfilling fuel. Increasing your intake of protein and fiber-rich items will keep you filling full longer, but also give you the energy you need to tackle your day when your intake is lower than usual.

Weight loss goals aren’t impossible when you take them one decision at a time. Use your big-picture goals to make manageable daily changes and substitutions.
