In February, a six-person team set out to summit Mount Kilimanjaro on a seven-day trek across 39 miles and five ecological zones. From rainforest to alpine desert to the arctic summit, the climb tested both endurance and equipment. On March 1, five members of the team reached Uhuru Peak at 19,341 feet.

They brought Stiksen Ventile caps with them. In the team’s words, the caps held up especially well in the rain before the summit push.

One moment stood out. At the summit, while the team captured footage with the gear that had supported the expedition, one of the porters watched and laughed. After hearing that brands had trusted them to test products on the mountain, he replied:

“Then the hats must be strong enough for Kilimanjaro.”
