Sugi Card is ready to ship!
We are thrilled to announce that the first batch of Sugi Cards is almost ready to ship!
We want to thank each and everyone of you for your patience and staying onboard with us all this time. We know it's been a bumpy ride - for us probably even more than for you! ;)
Here are the three most important things to keep in mind:
1. We have a firm production date for the first batch of cards this week. We will rigorously test them before shipping them out to you, so that you can be sure that everything is functioning smoothly and correctly. We went through the process with the manufacturer on-site several times, so our expectation is that there will be no problems or delays. Deliveries follow immediately after confirmation this week.
2. We literally only have a few dozen cards from the first batch remaining. If you haven't gotten yours yet - now is the time! First come, first served...
3. Due to a current supply constraint on the card chips, we are shipping a smaller numbers of cards in the first batch. The cards that we ship to you are fully functional and ready for use. However, we have been warned by our manufacturer that the print finish of the design will not be as durable as we want it to be. Therefore, we will issue everyone, who will receive a Sugi Card as part of the first batch, a new Sugi Card in the second batch (likely in April) that will be more durable.
Regarding point 3: The Sugi Card you receive now is technologically the same as the Sugi Cards that will be shipped in the second batch. The only difference is in the durability of the print on the cards and not in the durability of the chip itself. Hence you can continue to use the initially received card without fear even after you have received the new card. Or give it to someone else. It is our gratitude present for your early support of the Sugi project.
We have made this decision, so you can get your cards as soon as possible. The first batch of cards will also carry a special differentiator from all the upcoming editions. But let this be a surprise... :)
