It’s challenging to find “silver linings” amidst a pandemic. But there are small moments of joy and stories of positivity that help us to get through what is otherwise a dark time. Finding things to be grateful for — large or small — can improve your outlook and even your well-being.

Many note that, because of more flexible schedules, they’re able to spend more time with loved ones, connecting virtually with older relatives or in-person with family, such as college students who wouldn’t ordinarily be home. Or, perhaps, since you’re both home together more, you’ve gotten to spend more time with your partner in a less “scheduled” way. If you’re not in this boat, however, you’re not alone. For some this is a time of loneliness — and those feelings are valid, too.

Below, our writers dive into ways to find positivity during the outbreak and manage other feelings if you’re just not finding the “silver lining.”
