Happy Pi Day to You and Yours

If you're not eating 3.14 slices of pie, you're not living!

Happy day my sweet lil rhubarb slices!

It’s Pi Day, the day pastry enthusiasts and math lovers unite in glorious celebration of the things that bring them great joy.

Here are the posts on Man Repeller dot com that have brought me great joy. Emma let her gf style her for a week and the results are 2 cool 4 school. She also tried out a bunch of under eye concealers — click if you have dark circles under your eyes and/or enjoy gazing upon Emma’s glorious visage. Speaking of glorious visages, how about Harling’s and her hunt for the best lip balm?! Are you tired of me saying glorious visage yet? TOO BAD. You will gaze upon this double visage combo of Haley + Daniel Day-Lewis and love it!

Other gems of the week include Leandra’s investigation into the surprising relationship between Jennifer Anniston and the Olsen twins. Huge if true!!!!! Mehreen wrote a gorgeous piece on wandering. Check out Kiki on the value of a single bar of soap.  Patricia on letting go of long hair.

U r 1 hot potato

Bubby’s sent us some peanut butter pie in celebration of Pi Day and let me just say I would pick this pie anytime, any day.

This video from Full Frontal With Samantha Bee is worth a snack-break/work-break watch.

Matt picked this story about Elizabeth Holmes on The Cut as a nice teaser for the upcoming HBO doc. He is also very excited about this news.

Eliz’s pick is “the entire Need Supply sale section but especially this NEED top, this NEED faux leather skirt, this Stelen blazer for $56 (!!!), this Stelen pearly white top and these Marni platforms that if they had in my size, I would buy in a second.”

Emily’s pick is James Victore’s new book Feck Perfuction. “I’ve been following his work since college and am excited to see all of his insights, thoughts and designs in one book. It’s currently sitting on top of my nightstand, ready to lull me to sleep (in a good way).”

Edith shared this delightful post on Medium which matches celebrities with their typeface.  Also Lolo and Friends, which “just opened in Brooklyn on Smith St and sells all of the barrettes and candles and shell-shaped objects that seem to exist only in foreign countries via Instagram.” She also wants you to know that there are some pretty good markdowns over on Marais.

I love, love, love this poem I got from my Poem-A-Day newsletter. I’ve also been really enjoying the money conversation over on The Cut. I’ve also been enjoying these Not Pot gummies (per Emma’s suggestion) which are great and the company works with The Bail Project. PLUS! This story from Tin House knocked my socks off.

Harling shared two great reads: Every Black Woman Needs a Doula on Intelligencer and this profile of Amy Schumer in the NYT.

Amalie picks shrimp chips! “I recently went to a newly-opened Japanese market and bought them in bulk, as they brought me back to my middle school days in the Bay Area, mooching them from my friends. They are chips, they taste exactly like shrimp, they’re fantastic.”

And finally, I will leave you with this love note from Emma:

Dear Maya and Anna,

I love you. Not in a weird creepy way, but in the way of someone lacking a fully developed frontal lobe — just like the characters you play in your fantastic TV debut Pen15. I have not laughed as hard as I do watching your awkward characters navigate middle school in like, idk, ever. It’s nbd but I thought you might wanna know. Thank you for making something funny and weird and for not being skeeved out by playing 13-year-olds even though you’re both in your 30s. And for the masturbation episode. I think that last bit makes you true American heroes. What did you use to make the… orgasmic material? Maybe that’s a question for the props department.

Ok, this is getting long. TTYL.

<3 Emma

TTYL indeed.
