What are Giclee Prints?

With a revolutionary printing process, we use 7 dye-based inks to create our ultra detailed Giclee Prints, which elevate your photos with an expanded color range and crisp detail on your choice of five premium paper options – High Gloss, Semi-Gloss, Deep Matte, Fine Art, and Black & White.

Glossy Photo Finish

Are you into a bright, reflective finish with high contrasting colors? If so, glossy might be your best option.

Gloss is an extra layer of shine added to photo paper that allows it to reflect light while giving it an ultra-smooth feel. This makes a glossy finish ideal for images with vibrant colors and high saturation — such as portraits, everyday photos, or generally bright images — helping details appear sharper and pop more.

At Mpix, we have two types of glossy paper available through the Giclee Print line: High Gloss and Semi-Gloss. High Gloss produces the highest level of shine, showcasing the rich colors, look, and texture of a traditional photo print. Semi Gloss has less shine and is the midway point between our High Gloss finish and our Matte (no shine) paper. 

Matte Photo Paper

If you’re looking for something with more muted tones and will hide fingerprints, a matte finish might be your best option. 

A matte finish eliminates reflections and glare, making it a great choice for images with delicate details such as text and soft colors, including the subtle tones and textures of fine art and black-and-white photographs. 

Like glossy paper, we offer two matte paper options: Deep Matte and Fine Art. Deep Matte Paper is completely non-reflective and lusterless, featuring on incredibly smooth surface that is soft to the touch and produces rich colors with bold whites. Our Fine Art Paper is a thick matte paper made with high-quality artwork in mind. It has a subtle watercolor texture and provides outstanding longevity.
