Is Canon Reviving an Iconic FD Zoom Lens For Mirrorless?
by Nilofer Khan
November 5, 2024
Canon seems to be quite focused on getting the best ultimate zoom lens for its users. From the recently launched 70-200 F2.8L IS USM Z to the rumored 200-500mm f4 L, Canon is simply working to provide the best. It could also be true as the company's latest cameras, the EOS R5 II and EOS R1, are supposed to be the best in class and specifically targeted for fast-paced photography. Perhaps these lenses could really be the perfect companion for sports, wildlife, events photography, and photography. And now, a new report notes that the company will continue to advance this with a new patent.
How Kiana Hayeri and Mélissa Cornet Created The Most Important Photoseries of 2024
by Nilofer Khan
November 5, 2024
August 30, 2021, holds a historical significance around the world. It was the day when the last troops of the U.S. military departed Afghanistan, leaving it under the dictatorial regime of the Taliban. In the following weeks, chaos ensued, with the Taliban curbing the rights and freedom of Afghans, particularly women and girls. Today, with over 1.1 million girls now out of school, it becomes increasingly imperative for their voices to be heard. A duo that has made this possible against insurmountable odds is Canadian-Iranian photojournalist Kiana Hayeri and French researcher Mélissa Cornet, whose photo series serves as a poignant reminder of our collective loss.

by Nilofer Khan
November 5, 2024
As the world turns to a higher-end mirrorless camera market, there is still a segment of users who cannot afford it. In the United States, such interchangeable lens cameras can cost thousands of dollars, so many prefer to stick to their smartphones. While there was an era when compact cameras dominated the landscape, it appears this has not entirely changed. A new report reveals that compact cameras could shift how we see the photography market.

by Nilofer Khan
November 4, 2024
The camera industry is gearing up to go all in on mirrorless. In the past few years, we have continually received updates about the creation of mirrorless lineups from the biggest manufacturers in the world. With the latest Canon announcements, the trend won't change any sooner. While each company is too focused on providing us with sensors that every pixel peeper loves, they seem to be completely forgotten by the last sibling of the family: MFT (Micro Four Third) sensors. Now, it seems that one of the pioneers of technology, Panasonic, is completely overlooking this small and fun powerhouse camera.

by Chris Gampat
November 4, 2024
Wedding photographers: we've updated our guide to the best full-frame cameras for wedding photography. You can take a look at right here at this link. Originally written in 2022, we updated it in October to reflect a lot of changes that have come to the wedding photography world. For example, we added both the Canon EOS R6 II and the Sony a9 III into this. The Canon EOS R3 and Nikon Z9 are still on this list. Personally, I've seen the Nikon Z9 perform the best for low-light autofocus with people of color. Otherwise, the Sony a9 III has revolutionary tech that makes it incredible for wedding shooters. You can dive into our full round up. All of our reviews are done by humans and you can also read more about why you should trust us in the round up.
Viltrox 135mm f1.8 Review: The Fastest Mammoth of a Lens
by Chris Gampat
November 4, 2024
There's no other way to put it: the Viltrox 135mm f1.8 LAB FE lens is a mammoth, hulking beast that somehow moves incredibly fast. Considering that it's from a third-party that isn't Tamron, we're quite shocked because most brands can't perform at this level. This lens is sharp, contrasty, vibrant, and amazingly affordable. What's more, it also boasts weather resistance -- which means that it's going to keep working for a long time. We've been testing it since before the announcement, and we've been quite pleased with everything that's capable of doing.
This Andy Warhol-Signed Photobook Will Inspire True Beatles And Rolling Stones Fans
by Nilofer Khan
November 4, 2024
The sixties were the peak of the rock and roll era. Groups like The Rolling Stones and The Beatles made waves worldwide, earning prestige and gratitude for their talent. They were also the ones who defined rock and roll, with many groups such as AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi, and The Police following in their footsteps. While there are many era-defining photographs available today, there is not a definitive look at the sixties rock and roll scene. Or, at least, that's what I thought until I came across one spell-binding photobook by legendary photographer Michael Cooper: Blinds & Shutters. If you are wondering why it is such an important publication, especially the Andy Warhol edition, then read on to find out more.
