💕 where are your hype women?
A few years ago, Harvard Business Review reported that women with an inner circle of other women are more likely to land executive positions with better pay and more authority.
And: There is no such result for men with an inner circle of other men.
So how do we help to create these connections? Riveter School member Polina Ruvinsky is building a solution after a career working as a software engineering leader for iconic brands like Disney, ESPN and Rosetta Stone.
The answer: Hype HQ, where women use their power to uplift each other, and create a ripple effect of support and visibility.
⚡ What has been the hardest part of your pivot?
Entrepreneurship is definitely lonely. It’s a lot of decision fatigue, unknowns and worries. As a tech leader, I know how to build a product, but building my brand awareness and really, every aspect of marketing is new to me. They say that many entrepreneurs solve their own problems, and in this way I am no different! The idea for Hype HQ absolutely delivers on what I myself need at this stage - community, inspiration and organic marketing.
🏆 How does Hype HQ differ from other women's networking platforms?
Hype HQ stands out through its unique approach to community building. We've gamified the experience of supporting each other, making it fun and engaging. You earn points for hyping others, then redeem them for your own hype. Let’s face it, we all love friendly competition, and our members compete for those top spots on the Hype HQ leaderboard every month! Plus, we host weekly events to foster genuine connections among members. Our women are offering advice, collaborating and inspiring each other to reach for more.
Our members often tell us about the unexpected benefits they've discovered. For instance, our weekly live sessions have become a highlight for many. Members have found incredible networking opportunities, leading to podcast guest spots and collaborations. We've also heard from members who are learning new skills through our community. Plus our members often speak about the boost in confidence they've experienced. Being part of a community that consistently celebrates and uplifts each other has reignited passions and bolstered courage for many.

We have seen some of our most enthusiastic responses from YouTube creators, authors and podcasters. In those crowded fields, every review and comment boosts the algorithms in your favor. And those who seek to increase followers and engagement on LinkedIn are also seeing great results, with many reporting 5X impressions and 95% increase in reactions and comments.
The early results from our soft-launch are truly exciting. And the trajectory will only improve as we grow - the bigger the community, the bigger the results.
🍎 more things we love in September ...
💸 What I’m continuing to learn from the folks at Lettuce about the money pitfalls of pivoting to solopreneurship (read: you can pay double in taxes) and solutions (bonus: dive into the S corp, built just for people working on their own, and keep a lot more of your money). Check out their tax calculator here and you’ll be hooked.
📰 This event I’m hosting tomorrow (September 18) at 5 pm ET/2 pm PT with legendary editor and journalist Diane Harris (Time! Newsweek! More). You’ll learn how to write and place an op-ed to help you share your expertise with the world/amplify your work, and this really matters because only 20 percent of op-eds are written by women. Why should you love this, too? Writing op-eds can help create fantastic connections for work, further establish you as the voice of authority, and help you when you want to pivot. Use the code “riveterfriends” for 50% off tickets!
👗 I’m still in love with Armoire. I rent my clothes and you should, too. If you’re wondering: How will I know the clothes will fit me? Do they have nice brands? I get it. But consider this comment from my mom, Kathy, the most discerning judge of my wardrobe for 40 years and counting: “Sometimes I think Armoire buys clothes JUST for you to rent because they all look great on you.”
📕 My friend Daisy Auger-Dominguez has a new book hitting shelves tomorrow! Burnt Out to Lit Up: How to Reignite the Joy the Leading People is available for pre-order today. You will particularly love the chapter with the title: “How to Turn Your Work Nightmares into Epic Adventures.”
Rooting for all of us,
Amy
