📅 Financial Literacy Month

We're celebrating Financial Literacy this month, which means a deep dive into all things related to finance and wealth  — #AprilAdulting.

Kicking things off, we've got Part 1 of our 4-part Myth Busting Series. Each week in April, we'll debunk a new myth starting with:

Myth #1: Estate planning is only for the wealthy.

Other topics will include: Children, Inheritance, and Healthcare.

To wrap up our series, we're hosting an Instagram Live "Ask Me Anything" with our very own General Counsel, Patrick Hicks, and expert CFP, Rianka Dorsainvil, on April 29th!

Have something you want answered? Comment your questions on any of our recent Instagram posts.

💻 Death and Taxes

April also means Tax Time. According to the IRS, 90% of Americans filed their taxes online last year. And in 2022, the number of e-filings are coming in even higher, with 97.5% — over 53 million already filing online.

Which begs the question...

You do your taxes online, why should your Estate Plan be any different?

We don't think it should be. Which is why we're revolutionizing the ease of end-to-end estate planning. And we're doing it all online.

This gives you the ability to:

  • Update and make changes to your plan at anytime

  • Share your end-of-life plan with family, friends, and trusted advisors

  • See the big picture — with everything in one place

If you haven't started or completed your Estate Plan yet, we invite you to spend a few minutes this month and cross it off your "to-do" list.

📈 The "I" Word...

Don't say "inflation." According to a recent New York Times study, nearly 9 out of every 10 U.S. adults are concerned about inflation. From your savings account, to a perceived loss of finances, find out how the dreaded "i" word is impacting estate planning.

  • 33% — According to Caring.com, a majority of American adults believe estate planning is important, but only 33% of them have a Will or Trust

  • 1 out of 3Without an Estate Plan believe they don't have enough assets to leave behind

  • No IRA, No Problem — Even if you don’t have an expensive home, a huge net-worth, or a large IRA, you can still benefit from and start building multigenerational wealth by creating a Will or Trust

Estate planning definitions

With April 11th being National Pet Day, we fielded some questions about pets and your Estate Plan.

🐕   "Pet Guardianship" — "Do pets have legal rights?", "Can I leave money to my pet?", "Can pets be addressed in a Will?"

Read about how Pet Guardianships can ensure your furry family members are well taken care of.
