5 things I'm digging August edition

Email sent: Aug 30, 2021 12:57pm

Thanks to all of you that came out to our first big in-person sale last weekend! It was super humbling to have hundreds of you drive in from all over!

With Ugmonk existing mostly online these past 13 years, it was great to finally connect with so many of you face to face. Being able to see and feel our products in person is something that just can't be replicated digitally.

It always fun to hear the stories of how and when you discovered Ugmonk. Some of you have been following since the start, which still blows my mind! It means a ton to have such loyal support to keep our family business going.

I left feeling completely exhausted, but also completely energized to keep creating. Looking forward to doing more events like this in the future!

. . . . .

A special thanks to all my family and friends who helped to make this possible!
And shoutout to Jeff & Liz Frandsen for capturing photos.

Here are 5 things I'm currently digging...

1.

Loving this funky, unexpected branding for the Gentile Pizza Parlour in Montreal designed by Billyclub. Most pizza shops share similar aesthetics and color schemes, but this branding feels fun, unique, and memorable. And the pizza looks tasty too!

2.

I could watch these hand-painted lines by Hola Lou all day. Hola is an amazing artist and muralist based in Yucatán, México and I really dig her minimal, abstract compositions.

3.

Andrew Belle, one of my favorite singer/songwriters, just released his newest album called Nightshade and it's fantastic. Super chill music to listen to while designing.

4.

If you've been following me on Instagram, you know I've been on a big espresso tonic kick recently. It's the perfect refreshing coffee drink on a hot summer day. James Hoffman has all the details on how to make the perfect espresso tonic and some fun variations.

5.

After watching this tour of the Shearwater Beach House, I'm ready to move to Northern Tasmania. Not only is it gorgeous, but I appreciate how much thought was put into the overall flow and storage throughout the house. Some houses feel more like art pieces, while this one feels like it’s made to be lived in.

. . . . .

Hope you're enjoying the last few weeks of summer!

P.S. If you attended the sale, can you reply to this email so I can remember your name? I’m great with faces, terrible with names 😬
