Maison Verget makes wines from all corners of the Côte d’Or as well as a few further north (Chablis) and well south (stretching all the way down to the Luberon, south-east of Avignon.) “Maison” signifies “négociant”. This means the winemaker, Jean-Marie Guffens, buys in all the grapes. This Belgian-born renegade also runs his own vineyards under the name Guffens-Heynen. Regardless the name gracing his labels, the wine is sure to be precise and crisp, just what most Burgundy aficionados crave!
