The freedom of Calisthenics allows self-expression and demands flexibility of movement. A sport without rigid rules and routines, it’s not just perfect for adaptation – shared passions lead to stronger, more connected communities.

For Kai, a London athlete, the transformation came through navigating the obstacles life put in the way during 2020. “I said to my friend, Shakadi, ‘I'm never getting into this, never getting into calisthenics, I just want to do my power lifting’. But, lockdown came, gym's closed and I found myself down at the park doing calisthenics. And from there I just kept it consistent."

“My most memorable day was the last Calisseum event. We had a 15 year old pull off a trick that only 3 people in the UK can do. It sent a park of over 80 people into total eruption. At that moment I realised I am 100% in the right place in life. I felt so alive.”

“I feel like in a lot of sports where you have to wear loads of gear, you've kind of become numb to your surroundings… with calisthenics, it's outside and you're training barefoot, you become part of the environment, it's just therapeutic really.”
