Hey , Thank you for your continuous support of WeBuyBlack. When I first started the company, I wrote down five potential names, with 'WeBuyBlack' being my last choice. However, I chose it because it embodied the spirit of how I envisioned the movement—bold, transparent, and unapologetic.

This strategic decision has proven effective, transforming it into a globally recognized brand that has awakened our nation's consciousness, urging Black people to support and uplift one another and all others to recognize the power of our unity. 

Initially, I gave myself five years to reconsider the name, but come 2020, we were not only were dealing with a global pandemic, we also witnessed a Black man “lynched” by police officers, which sparked the widespread summer protests. The timing for a name change was not right, especially with billion-dollar corporations directing their staff to take action by "buying black on webuyblack.com." And seeing celebrities take to their platforms demanding reform and the circulation of Black dollars. 

So, I waited, then decided that we'd officially rebrand on the celebration of our 9th year of business, Juneteenth 2024. On June 19th, 2015, I made a promise to our community that we will say "We Buy Black" until we no longer have to say We Buy Black." Now, as we've reached our ninth year in business, it's time to broaden our language, refine our mission, expand our reach, and solidify our global community with NASPORA.
