Critical Acclaim
91 points – James Suckling
"An elegant and scented nose of pink cherry pits, peach skin and cherry blossoms. Medium-bodied with fresh, round acidity and a textured finish. Elegant and pure finish."
Caves d’Esclans changed the trajectory of modern rosé when Sacha Lichine purchased the Provençal estate in 2006 and set out to make pale pink wines with wider international appeal. Working with longtime winemaker Patrick Léon, formerly of Château Mouton Rothschild, the estate refined a fresh, polished style that helped put Côtes de Provence rosé on wine lists and dinner tables around the world. Whispering Angel quickly became the label that defined the category, prized for its clean fruit, crisp texture, and easy elegance.
The 2025 Whispering Angel Rosé is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Rolle, and Syrah, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve freshness and purity. James Suckling awarded it 91 points, praising its notes of pink cherry pits, peach skin, and cherry blossoms alongside its smooth texture and lively finish. Pale in color and dry on the palate, it delivers bright berry fruit with a refreshing mineral edge that keeps each sip vibrant. Pour it with grilled shrimp, Niçoise salad, sushi, spring vegetables, or a long afternoon outdoors with friends as the weather warms up.
Spring is when rosé starts flying off the shelves, and Whispering Angel remains one of the season’s most requested bottles for good reason. Alongside the classic Whispering Angel Rosé, we also have Whispering Angel The Beach Rosé in stock for relaxed spring and summer sipping. Now is the perfect time to add both to your wine rack as the season shifts into full swing!
