Free Commemorative Knicks Poster

When New York City’s inherent skepticism drops away and a full-throated party erupts in the streets, New York is inevitably part of the celebration. From our beginnings, we’ve had the greatest New York sports figures on our magazine’s cover, from Dwight Gooden to Pedro Martinez, from Joe Namath to L.T., from Reggie Jackson to Mariano Rivera. Some appeared in moments of triumph, others as they got close only to see a championship slip through their fingers (Patrick Ewing, alas). In 1973, when the Knicks last won the NBA Finals, New York commissioned the great caricaturist David Levine to create a poster to commemorate the occasion.

Fifty-three years out, we’re doing it again, with a new illustrated poster by Andrew Kuo (available only in the print magazine) and a cover portrait of Jalen Brunson shot by Mark Seliger that accompanies a profile of the champion by Tom Kludt.
