our textile making process
cary and Jenna looking at textiles together
every ace&jig textile is designed by us!
and brought to life by our weaving partners in India.
woman in India picking cotton
each textile design begins as raw cotton.
a man in india spinning yarn
the cotton is carded and cleaned, then spun - the wheel
used here is repurposed from an old bicycle!
buckets of dye places outside
once ready, the yarn is dyed and sun dried.
hand weaving loom with Lockwood textile
then the intricate process of warping the loom begins.
our designs require multiple hands and intricate pegboards
to achieve the right warp.
notebook with kaleidoscope textile desk loom
a first draft of the textile is woven - we call this a deskloom.
from here we tweak the color, texture, weight, and
pattern until we reach something we love!
gif of an autoloom machine weaving anisette textile
once the design is perfected, we pass it on to
larger autolooms for production.

we create 25-30 custom fabrics per season.
when a new season begins, we start the process all over again!
