ACLU Supporter, from protecting immigrants' rights to defending free speech, the ACLU has held the Trump administration accountable from day one:

• We took our first legal action on day one of President Trump's second term, challenging his executive order attempting to ban birthright citizenship just hours after he signed it. We argued our case before the Supreme Court in April, and in June we won. The Court vindicated the 14th Amendment, struck down President Trump's order, and protected the birthright citizenship rights of children born in this country.
• Just last week, we announced that we've filed 54 claims in 17 states and Washington, D.C. against the federal government on behalf of people who have suffered serious violence, abuse, and neglect at the hands of federal immigration agents. Since the beginning of President Trump's second term, federal law enforcement agents have terrorized communities and people in their custody with a blatant disregard for the law. The consequences have been deadly. Now, we're seeking justice for those who have experienced harm.
• We've sued the administration for illegally detaining Mohsen Mahdawi, Dr. Badar Khan Suri, and Mahmoud Khalil for their speech – and secured their releases. Because the First Amendment applies to everyone in this country, regardless of immigration status.
• We challenged President Trump's executive order directing federal agencies to withhold funds from medical providers and institutions that provide gender-affirming medical treatments to anyone under 19 years old. A court then temporarily blocked the Trump administration from enforcing it.
• Across the country, ACLU affiliates and partners trained more than 84,000 people on their rights and enrolled 180,000 individuals in our People Power activist program. When protests were met with militarized responses, we rapidly expanded Know Your Rights training nationwide, equipping tens of thousands of people to demonstrate safely and lawfully.
