Every day, the ACLU is fiercely defending LGBTQ rights at the state and federal level through litigation, legislation, and advocacy. And we're not stopping now. Although Pride Month ends soon, our work to ensure that all people can live freely without discrimination is far from over.

ACLU Supporter, since day one, the Trump administration has made clear their objective to push transgender people out of public life. This administration has censored the entire federal government from even mentioning trans people's existence and is fighting to defund schools that refuse to discriminate against transgender students. The ACLU is fighting back against these attacks as swiftly as they've rolled in.

And states continue their relentless push to restrict LGBTQ rights:

• In New York, we're defending families of transgender youth from the administration's effort to seize their private medical records and coerce their doctors into dropping them as patients.
• In Idaho, we're fighting a new state law that threatens trans people with up to five years in prison for using public bathrooms consistent with their gender.
• In Florida, we are defending educators from unlawful sex discrimination. We recently filed a claim of discrimination on behalf of an intersex teacher, Shepard Scalf, who was wrongfully pushed out of his classroom because of his sex and the belief that he was transgender. All employees deserve to be valued and respected at work.

We're actively litigating dozens of cases to defend the right of LGBTQ communities, including cases to protect the right of trans youth to access health care, the right of trans youth to protect private medical records from government seizure, and the right for trans people to have passports that match their gender identity.

We're fighting back, but we can't do this work alone.
