ACLU Supporter, We just won our birthright citizenship case at the Supreme Court. Today, the Supreme Court struck down President Trump's executive order attacking birthright citizenship. President Trump attempted to rewrite the Constitution by executive fiat – and we stopped him. This was more than a legal case. It was a fight against President Trump's efforts to create a permanent subclass of people born in this country but denied their rights as American citizens. Our milestone victory proves unequivocally that the president does not decide who belongs in this country. And this community's support made it possible, ACLU Supporter. From taking action to donating, individuals like you directly fueled this fight through every legal hurdle over the last 16 months. Thank you for being in this with us. This case was personal for our team, several of whom are second-generation Americans like me, and I know it was for many of our members, too. As we celebrate, my heart is with the millions of immigrant families who are integral to communities across this country, who can breathe a sigh of relief now that this fundamental right is reaffirmed. What's next? The ACLU will fight on, as we have for over 105 years, to defend the rights and liberties of every person in this country – because we understand that when one group or person's rights are threatened, all of our freedoms are at risk. And we know you understand, too. This case was one of hundreds of legal actions we've taken to defeat, delay, or dilute President Trump's dangerous agenda. We're not stopping anytime soon, but we need your help to continue defending civil liberties at this urgent moment. Please, if you can, will you begin a monthly gift now to become an ACLU Guardian of Liberty? If you donate right away, your monthly gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Thank you again – for everything,
Cecillia Wang P.S. RSVP to join us Tuesday, July 7, 5–6 p.m. at the ACLU Town Hall: Inside the Supreme Court Term where we'll discuss Trump v.
