ACLU Supporter, 52 Senators just voted to give $70 billion more dollars to fund ICE and Border Patrol's violence. Let's be clear: By voting to give this money to ICE and Border Patrol without any guardrails or accountability, these Senators are giving a green light to mass abuses against our communities.
Federal agents have detained children, ripped them away from their families, and even used pepper spray and tear gas against infants. They've shot and killed people without accountability. They've targeted our neighbors based on nothing more than the color of their skin. And in spite of all of this, 52 Senators voted to give these agencies more money without any consequences for the terrors they've inflicted on our communities. Make no mistake: A vote in favor of more ICE and Border Patrol funding is a vote to prioritize President Trump's cruel mass deportation agenda over the needs of American families. But this fight isn't over. The House still has yet to vote – and they can hold the line against any more funding to fuel this lawlessness. Thanks for your action, Kate Voigt |
