ACLU Supporter, thanks to your advocacy, Congress went on recess without passing their bill to give $70 billion more to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol. This is a major win. Not only does it mean the public pressure we have continued to put on them is working – but it means that if we keep pushing, we may actually move them to vote no when they return from recess. Will you join us again and demand Congress block this money to ICE and Border Patrol's abuse now?
This money comes on top of the extra $170 billion the Trump administration already forced through as part of his "One Big Beautiful Bill." ICE and Border Patrol have used those hundreds of billions in taxpayer dollars to wreak havoc on our communities – shooting people in the street, abusing immigrants in their custody, and separating more than 100,000 U.S. citizen children from their immigrant parents in an effort to deport as many people as possible. Our elected officials have to answer to us – the people – for the decisions they make. So, while the Congress is home in our states, we're reminding them that we're watching. Tell your representative to vote no on funneling billions into ICE and Border Patrol's abuse. Thanks for all you do, The ACLU Team |
