ACLU Supporter, a bill in Congress right now could create a pathway to citizenship for the millions of immigrants who have built families, careers, and lives in the United States – but despite bipartisan support, it hasn't been brought to the floor for a vote.

Congress can't choose inaction when ICE agents are attacking and even shooting people in our streets, and thousands are being endangered by ICE violence and deadly detention sites – with no regard for their rights, dignity, or families left behind.

That's exactly why I was on Capitol Hill on Monday. Together with over 1,000 ACLU supporters, leaders from across the country, and student activists, we visited more than 400 congressional offices and rallied outside the Capitol, calling for our elected officials to pass this bill in the largest lobby day in ACLU history. And our campaign is working: We have 210 of the 218 signatures we need to force a vote on this bill, and we just need your help to get it across the finish line.

Tell your lawmakers to force a vote on the Dream and Promise Act and protect our communities from ICE's violence and cruelty.

The Trump administration, led by Stephen Miller, has used legal status as a weapon – stripping deportation protections away from people who've lived and worked here for decades on a whim. And Miller's attacks on immigrants are only getting deadlier.

Congress must act immediately to create lasting, meaningful protections for Dreamers and Temporary Protected Status recipients. The Dream and Promise Act creates a path to citizenship and legal protections from deportation. It would keep families from being torn apart by the Trump administration's deportation force and allow people to continue working and thriving in their communities.

But even though an overwhelming majority of voters support a path to citizenship – and even though this bill has bipartisan support – Congress has dragged its feet on taking a vote. Our lawmakers can and must force a vote on the bill and keep this critical legislation moving.
