Thanks to your ongoing support, we’ve been able to fund 12 new medical research projects so far in 2026, investing more than £2 million to help babies and children affected by a range of conditions. We also have a new partnership with the charity Action for A-T, supporting three studies to help children affected by the rare disease Ataxia Telangiectasia.

Meet Miles, an amazing 16-year-old who has set out to raise £10,000 for Action! Miles lives with cerebral palsy and along with his sister Xiana has decided to turn his journey into something that can help others. His mum will be running the Scottish Half Marathon on 16 August, while Miles is tackling the Kiltwalk with the support of his carers next month. Xiana is also taking on her own fundraising challenge with friends in September. We are so grateful to have Miles’ support, and you can help him hit his target by sponsoring him. |

Next month sees Remember a Charity Week (7-13 September), a timely reminder that writing or updating a will doesn’t have to be complicated. Our free will-writing service lets you choose what works best for you – online, by phone or with a local solicitor. You don’t have to include a gift to Action, but some supporters choose to remember us in this special way. Gifts in wills help fund vital medical research for babies, children and young people, now and in the future. Whatever the size, every gift is hugely appreciated and helps make more life-changing research possible. |

Lilly-May, pictured, was just four years old when she suddenly began to suffer seizures and lost the ability to walk, talk and eat. She was diagnosed with Rasmussen’s encephalitis (RE), a rare condition that leads to inflammation in one side of the brain. Surgery remains the only way to stop this disease from progressing, but comes with serious risks. That’s why our summer appeal is supporting research to deepen understanding of what causes RE, diagnose it sooner and develop better treatment options. There’s still time to give if you can. |

Plus our ever-popular Jurassic Coast and Lake District events return. Join us as a team of two or four to bike, hike and paddle while raising funds to support vital medical research for babies and children.
