Hi Friend,
When Laura and Gill signed up for Race the Sun, they had someone very special in mind.
They wanted to do something meaningful for someone they love.
That someone was Micky.
|
Two and a half years ago, Micky was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer.
Since then, she has bravely endured chemotherapy, a multi-organ transplant, and months of difficult complications.
After spending eight months in hospital, Micky is now back home, smiling, thriving, and continuing to inspire everyone around her.

Turning support into Action |
To honour Micky’s courage, her aunt Laura and family friend Gill decided to take on Race the Sun.
They joined the Jurassic Coast Off-Road challenge, raising over £2,000 for Action Medical Research along the way.
It wasn’t about being elite athletes.
It was about doing something meaningful together, in support of children like Micky.

Race the Sun is a dawn to dusk team challenge across some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes.
You don’t need to be an experienced cyclist, paddler or hiker.
Teams take it on at their own pace, supporting each other throughout the day, with full event support from our team.
What matters most isn’t speed, it’s sharing the experience and finishing together.

Action Medical Research is a UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. For over 70 years we've helped pioneer ways to prevent disease and develop treatments benefiting millions of people.
Our research has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths. But there’s more to do and we urgently need your support.
