How fit do I need to be?
Anyone with
a reasonable level of fitness who is prepared to train beforehand can take on
Race the Sun. The more you train, the more you’ll enjoy the challenge. Plus
it’s a great incentive to get fit, whilst raising funds for an excellent cause.
What equipment do I need?
Participants will provide their own bikes (e-bikes are allowed), and we will provide everything needed for the paddling section, including a canoe/kayak, paddles, and buoyancy aids and training if needed.
What happens
if I don't have all my teammates yet?
Not a problem. Secure your discounted place today and add your teammates later. Many participants register first and then recruit friends, family members, colleagues or training partners over the following weeks.
Can more than four of us take part?
Yes! Teams are made up of two or four people, but larger groups are very welcome. Simply register multiple teams and let us know your team names so we can link them together.
Many workplaces, friendship groups and families take part this way, creating their own mini Race the Sun community while enjoying the challenge together.
How much does it cost?
Entry is £240 for a team of four or £120 for a team of two.
With your 50% discount code, this is just £30 per person. This includes full event support, medals, canoe/kayak equipment, signage, event staff and food.
Enter code RTS27 at checkout before 30 September 2026 to claim your discount.
Is there a sponsorship target?
Each participant is asked to raise £500 to help fund vital children's medical research.
Don't worry if you've never fundraised before, we'll support you every step of the way with fundraising ideas, resources and advice to help you reach your target.
