Canned Tuna is one of our favorite items here amongst those of us in the office. And many of our fishermen make sure that their galley's pantry always has some of our canned tuna--it's just so good that even finicky salmon fishermen just have to have it.
We've been getting lots of requests for our canned salmon lately and we are out of stock through at least late fall. So, we wanted to catch your attention with a one-day sale on our canned tuna. Honestly, I prefer the canned tuna, but obviously this is subjective, but here are a couple of notes on the canned tuna:
We'll just start off by saying that this tuna's oil content gets up to nearly 21% and their fattiness makes them delicious and loaded with heart-healthy oils. Most canned tuna in stores is canned with added water. Our canned tuna, if you haven't had it yet, is a whole other item. Indeed, there is liquid in the can when you open it, but that is the natural oil from the tuna.
And that's why are customers so excited about
our canned tuna. What else is so special about our canned tuna?
First, we start with hook-and-line-caught frozen-at-sea premium-quality albacore tuna.
Being line-caught means a couple of important things:
The tuna we are catching are caught on hook and line are actively feeding in their prime. These younger fish are eating their weight everyday to build up fat reserves for a massive Trans-Pacific migration. With 5 grams omega-3 fatty acids per 7.5-ounce can, this tuna has 5 x the healthy fat and omega-3s than the industrially-caught albacore tuna typically found in grocery store tuna. This is a huge difference!
Second, as is the case with our salmon, when the tuna are caught on hook and line, it gives the fishermen time to take care of the fish. In this case, once landed, the tuna are immediately blast frozen somewhere near 40 degrees below zero. It’s extra work, but we do things the right way because we take great pride in the quality seafood that we deliver to our customers.
