We’re back with another week of favorites + a little life lately 🤍

How is it mid-July?! What do you mean school starts in exactly a month, and I can feel summer slipping by, and I am doing my best to soak it all in.

What’s Happening at A+B

July is a busy month at AB because we work ahead on shooting collections. However, we give you a break and don’t typically drop any new collections. Since Bess and I switched careers almost 7 years ago (whaaaat) we have both learned so much about the retail industry. After the 4th of July, it is pretty standard that summer is over in terms of product placement and everything switches to back to school and fall… Even if it is still 100 degrees outside. I don’t make the rules! With that said, we have a few fun sales coming up to close out our summer inventory.

​A Few Favorites from Allie

1. I found this recently and can’t believe more people are not talking about it. It is from the same brand that makes the viral collagen masks we all love and sleep in. This gives the same effect when you are short on time or don’t want to sleep with a mask. I can’t even explain the texture but it feels like silk. I can't recommend this enough!

2. I grabbed this shirt at Target because in my world, you can never have enough button-ups. I have the green in a size Large for a more oversized look and have worn and styled 4 different ways. Paired with boxer shorts, tied around a monochromatic black jeans and tank, white dress, a baseball cap, and this tied around the waist or worn open, and lastly with jeans, a white tank, and worn open. I could go on and on, but a button-up never goes out of style!

3. This one feels silly to even put here, but I have already gone through a bottle, ordered another, and then found a big one at Costco. This seasoning is so simple but has the perfect amount of each, and the texture is just right. I already used salt, pepper, and garlic on everything, but there is something about this one that just hits different.

A Few Favorites from Bess

A few things making summer feel a little more manageable over here:

1. Fun fact about me: I'm actually allergic to bug spray because it triggers my asthma, so every outdoor activity I just assume I'm going to get eaten alive by mosquitoes. This year, though, we were watching fireworks at a golf course with some friends, and someone had these little bug-repellent bands. I noticed they were all natural, so I figured I'd give one a try. Y'all...I didn't get a single mosquito bite. I honestly couldn't believe it! I wore another one the next day to our Fourth of July parade, and once again, not one bite. I was completely sold. I immediately went to Target and bought a whole bag of them because they seriously may be my favorite summer find.
   
   

2. I've been using Salt & Stone deodorant for a while now, but I just picked up the Black Rose & Oud scent at Sephora this week...and I think it might be my new favorite. The smell is SO good. It's warm, rich, and just feels a little elevated without being overpowering. I already loved how well Salt & Stone holds up (even in the Texas heat!), but this scent has me completely hooked. If you've been looking for a natural deodorant that actually works and smells amazing, this one is definitely worth trying.

Last Thought

As I have gotten older, something shifted in me, and I find myself struggling to be around people who constantly find the negative in things. Maybe it’s an appreciation for life and knowing how short it is, or just how much someone's mood can affect others, but I really want to be positive in all situations. We already know it’s impossible to control them, so we really just need to shift our perspective to find the joy in every situation. It’s not always easy, but since I have been doing this, it has made such a difference in my day-to-day, and I also think it’s infectious.
