Amazon reveals next-gen robot as part of €10B investment

Amazon announced a next-generation Proteus robot that employees can now direct using simple, conversational text prompts to move items anywhere across fulfillment sites—no technical commands needed. The company is investing more than €10 billion to expand and modernize European fulfillment centers with advanced robotics like Proteus, Vulcan, and STARK, while adding 25,000 new jobs across the region.

Additionally, customers in the UK can now add fresh, perishable groceries to Same-Day Delivery orders in parts of London, with plans to expand to more areas across the country in the coming months.

Amazon is investing $1 billion in Career Choice as part of its Future Ready 2030 initiative. The investment will help upskill 500,000 employees globally in high-growth fields like cybersecurity and software development. The program offers prepaid education for salaried employees across 14 countries.
