"I'm going to go with stocks because we have the earnings growth there, so I'm going to go with that in my favor. I mean, gold, crypto, I can't predict those. I mean, I could make a prediction, but you might as well just flip a coin. You might have better odds. But bonds — you'd have to look for some reversal in yields, and I'm not sure that I necessarily see easing of that pressure. But like John, I rebalance my portfolio periodically, but I don't try to time the market. Studies show most investors are far better off if they follow more of a buy-and-hold strategy with their allocations, making very minor adjustments to it, than trying to time the market."
Sam Levine, CFA, CMT
"I'm going to go with stocks. I don't know if we're going to see exorbitant returns, but I'm still generally bullish on the economy."
"I was looking at a year-to-date chart [on cryptocurrency], and I noticed that the peaks still really aren't trending higher. I tend to use very basic signals with my chart analysis, and what I want to see are higher highs and higher lows, and I'm just seeing sort of the high point of a channel at this point on a year-to-date chart. That's a very flip analysis, but I'm going to stick with it."
John Bajkowski
"I'm probably with you on that [Sam]. Although, to be honest, I'm not much of a market timer. I prefer just to simply pick my allocation and stick to it. So for me, I don't really typically move that much money in or out. But I would, if given a choice, since I'm a long-term investor, long-term bull, I'm going to go with stocks. Because, like I think, as Sam noted today, even a broken analog clock is right twice a day."
