These Products Are Still the Best on the Market

Recently, I learned about the subreddit “r/BuyItForLife,” in which users chat about the things they love that are durable and high-quality. These are values I always strive to adopt in my own shopping habits, as well as in the Reviews team’s rigorous equipment testing in the kitchen.

We know this concept better than anyone else because once we pick a winner, whether it be a knife, thermometer, or blender, we stock it by the dozen in our office and test cooks put it to use every single day while they’re developing recipes. On the off chance that it doesn’t hold up over time, we hear from them, and we go back and update our review so that we find something better.

It can be hard to stomach a high price tag up front, but it also feels darn good knowing that a product will last and work just as well for decades to come. Sometimes, we even find a perennial favorite that doesn’t break the bank, which is equally thrilling.
