Dear you,
As we move into another week, I'm reminded of the growing body of research exploring summer wellbeing. Much of it simply reinforces what many of us already know instinctively. What is working for us recently?
1. Begin the day a little earlier.
A few quiet moments before the demands of the day arrive. A good coffee (I've returned to Monmouth Coffee). Open windows. Morning light.
2. Find your patch.
A park. A garden. Research continues to show the value of spending time in nature.
3. Move with consistency.
If you feel like a light jog and no gym, that's ok. Not every week requires ambitious goals or personal bests.
4. Prioritise good company.
Call or see a friend. Trust and conversation remain some of the most important contributors to wellbeing.
5. Create a gentle ending to the day.
A book. A bath. A cup of tea. Something that signals the day is coming to a close. We are reading London Calling. Get a copy.
None of these ideas is particularly revolutionary. The challenge is remembering to practise them.
This morning, we shared our June Prescription, a small gift card for you to contribute towards whatever wellbeing looks like for you this summer at anatomē. Wishing you a restorative week ahead.
Brendan
