Is wellness having a pleasure rebellion?

For most women, pleasure is a treat you get to eventually, if the day goes well. A bath if the kids are down early. Five minutes with a hot coffee before the emails start. We ration ourselves in small guilty portions and call the rationing balance.

Women have been taught to put themselves last, and optimisation culture turns whatever joy is left into something to feel guilty about.

But doing more is rarely the answer. Whole food, sleep, movement, connection and rest are the foundation.
