Hello, Beauty!
The surprising truth about “natural” skin care is that the word itself does not always mean much.
When we started Annmarie Skin Care, that was one of our biggest frustrations.
So much of what was being sold as “natural” was really just marketing. A formula could be packaged in earth tones, use botanical language, and still rely on isolated ingredients, synthetic fragrance, harsh preservatives, or tiny amounts of plant extract sprinkled in so it looked better on the label.
A whole plant is complex. It naturally contains different compounds that work together, like fatty acids, antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, and phytonutrients. When an ingredient is overly processed or recreated in a lab to mimic one part of the plant, you can lose a lot of that complexity.
And that complexity is part of why real botanicals can be so supportive for the skin.
At Annmarie Skin Care, we do not formulate around botanical buzzwords. We formulate around whole plants, careful sourcing, and preparation methods that help preserve what makes those ingredients valuable in the first place.
Take our Wild Fruit Serum, this formula is not just a generic “fruit extract” serum. It features Kakadu plum, one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, along with copper-infused water and active Madonna lily plant cells.
Together, they help support the look of brighter, more even, more luminous skin, especially when your complexion looks dull or tired.
Or our Activated Night Serum, our retinol alternative, but we do not use retinol or retinoids in the formula. Retinoids can be harsh for a lot of people, especially if your skin is sensitive, dry, or easily reactive.
So instead, we use our Bioactive A-Complex, derived from algae, to support the look of smoother texture, more even tone, and firmer-looking skin without relying on a traditional retinoid.
One last example, our Botanical Lactic Toner. Instead of using a traditional AHA approach that can feel overly aggressive, this formula uses lactic acid derived from our in-house fruit blend of sugarcane, apple, lemon, and orange.
It helps loosen the buildup of dead skin cells on the surface, which can make skin look smoother, brighter, and more even over time, without leaving the skin feeling stripped.
That is the larger point.
The ingredient matters, but so does the source, the processing, and the formula around it.
We partner with organic farms and wildcrafters we trust. We slow-infuse herbs into oils. And we make products in small batches to help keep the formulas fresh and intentional.
Technically, summer has not started yet. But this weekend always feels like the unofficial kickoff, so today we are starting our sitewide sale with that same energy.
You can take 25% off sitewide with the code ASCMEMDAY26, and all orders over $150 will receive a free Brighten - Vitamin C with Seabuckthorn elixir ($90 value, while supplies last).
Brighten is a good example of what we mean when we say the formula matters just as much as the ingredient.
Vitamin C is everywhere in skin care, but not every vitamin C formula is made the same. Ours uses THDA, a plant-derived, oil-soluble form of vitamin C, paired with sea buckthorn berry CO2 extract.
You just add a few drops into your serum or facial oil, which is exactly why we love it as a free gift for this sale. It gives your routine a little more targeted brightening support while still fitting into the products you already use.
So if you have been waiting to stock up or try something new, today is a very good day to do it.
Your skin deserves ingredients with a purpose, and formulas made with the kind of care you can actually feel.
