Watch time: 1 min | Sage on what's past the fear
We just covered how the edge of your comfort zone is the place where fear and uncertainty meet real growth. And even the most extraordinary of us pull back when we reach it.
Sage Robbins knows that space intimately. She’s an author, speaker, and guide who has shared stages with Tony for more than 25 years. She speaks on conscious leadership, emotional resilience, and what it means to show up with full presence.
She’s also done the hard inner work of becoming herself and is the first to tell you that none of it came easy.
Early on in their relationship, Tony invited her on stage for the first time. She got so far inside her own head that one thought was stuck on repeat: I can't do this. When she heard her name, she froze. She couldn't speak. She walked off shaken and sure she would never stand on stage again.
That's exactly what the edge of your comfort zone does. It tries to convince you that pulling back is safe.
But here’s how Sage describes moments like that:
"Pain doesn't break us. It rearranges us. And on the other side of it is something I wouldn't trade for anything: lived wisdom, inner comfort, and a clarity that simply cannot be rushed."
Wisdom like that isn't handed to you. Sage built it slowly by walking to the edge again and again, choosing differently each time. As she says, it starts with each of us deciding you've had enough of your own limits and taking responsibility for your life. So she kept closing the gap and her courage grew stronger every time she used it.
Today, she speaks on stages around the world and shares weekly reflections in her own newsletter and YouTube channel. Both are in her own voice and on her own terms, where she shares what she learned about presence, resilience, and leading consciously.
What if everything you want is just one step past your comfort zone?
Sage stepped past the edge of her comfort zone and found her voice.
So can you.
